Yoga - Great For Your Health And Your Sex Life!

Yoga is a fantastic form of exercise that helps reduce stress and fatigue, prevents pain, improves alignments, and increases flexibility.

Engaging in yoga regularly can increase your overall strength as it requires you to support the weight of your body as you move in and out of poses at a slow pace.  Yoga also increases flexibility and therefore gives you a greater range of motion allowing for more muscle control.   This helps increase muscle tone and shape those lean muscles that make us feel oh so sexy, which in turn can increase self esteem.   Poor self image is one of the biggest contributors to low sex drive.  If we feel sexy and attractive we are more likely to want to engage in sex play.

Mentally, yoga can improve concentration and awareness by teaching you how to breathe correctly and use your lungs more efficiently.  Certain types of breath can calm the nervous system and increase awareness of your own body.  This can also increase your own comfort with your body.  If you are already comfortable in your own skin, yoga also improves posture, giving you greater self confidence!

Yoga teaches you how to calm your mind and free yourself from your thoughts, so it is easier to concentrate and enjoy what you are doing during sex instead of being distracted by worries or less-than-sexy thoughts.  This is especially important for sex, because it is very difficult to relax and enjoy physical sensations if you are constantly in your head.

If we are stressed out or tired it is very difficult to get up the motivation to engage in sex play.  Physical activity is very good for relieving stress because exercise reduces the levels of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is a stress hormone that builds fat in the abdominal region, increasing weight which can cause health problems.

Yoga is not the only activity that helps to increase energy and relieve stress.  Many forms of exercise can achieve the same results.  Positive Passions has a variety of healthy lifestyle classes including Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Partner Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Pilates, and dance aerobics and toning classes like Zumba ,         Fit-Thru- Strip, and Bellyfit.
